It’s a great time to set new goals for yourself and reflect on how you met your goals last year. This video by Marie Forleo offers some great insight on how you can evaluate your past performance.
Ms. Forleo offers three questions that can help you to assess your performance last year and give you a springboard for starting strong next year.
What did you do that you’re really proud of?
If you can repeat your performance on the things that made you the happiest, wouldn’t that be great? By remembering what you did that made you proud, you can move yourself toward those goals next year.
What have you learned from your mistakes?
Every mistake we make is an opportunity to grow as a person. Everybody makes mistakes, but the thing that separates people with positive mental attitudes is what they learned from their mistakes and how they will avoid them in the future. Consider putting together a short list of the mistakes you made and going through them to remind yourself of what you learned last year.
What are you willing to let go of?
If you had a goal last year that you aren’t that interested in anymore, or you had an activity that you just aren’t that passionate about anymore, it’s a great idea to let those things go peacefully rather than spend your time on activities your heart isn’t in anymore.
